BEN Progetti makes its theater debut!
It was an immense honor (as well as a pleasant discovery to attribute a new use to our anti-trauma flooring!) To contribute to the original scenography for the commissioning of Giuseppe Verdi’s Macbeth for the premiere at the Teatro Regio in Parma. from 28 September 2018.
A beautiful scenic intuition, by the Scenography Laboratory of the Teatro Regio in Parma, which brings rain to the theater! Yes, let’s talk about the rain, fallen from the “sky” of the stage tower that has bathed the opera singers and fell lightly on the stage, covered for the occasion by a Vitriturf® VMS flooring, with essential characteristics of drainage and fire certification Class 1.
Draining and certified fireproof flooring Class 1
It was precisely the draining characteristic of the floor that made it possible to introduce the rain on the scene, avoiding the formation of stagnant water and allowing a rapid collection in special grids placed under the stage.
All the scenography of this Macbeth by Abbado, set up in a minimal, almost nude form, is interspersed with cycles of thin rain, which is the background to a melancholy and nebulous atmosphere, to evoke the unfriendly atmosphere of the Channel beyond where the work is it is placed.
A pavement was cast in place but cut into size plates (dimensions 100 × 200 cm made on site) to facilitate installation, subsequent removal at the end of each representation and make transport easier.
To this end, the VMS system was used, a versatile and multifunctional coating with a single layer of rubber, ideal for paving exhibition spaces, walkways, squares and multipurpose areas. It is a non-slip, non-toxic and decorative flooring that can be used both indoors and outdoors and is perfect for creating customized themed areas and special settings.
